In Forza Motorsport 4, the premier Xbox driving sim returns to race around 360 tracks with enhanced graphics, a more diverse
selection of cars, and support for Kinect natural-motion controls. As in previous Forza games, detailed physics models
re-create the power and handling characteristics of different cars in different conditions, to provide hardcore enthusiasts with
a realistic driving experience. With various optional driver-assist features, casual players can compete as well.
The Wii version of Madden NFL 12 features additional control schemes, new in-game challenges, an updated franchise mode,
revamped player models, and new social game types. Gesture-based controls are now optional, as the game supports the
Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro for online and offline play modes. The Wii Remote can also be held horizontally
for a two-button interface for those desiring a simpler scheme.
Based on Pixar's computer animated film, Cars 2 follows the exploits of car characters Lightning McQueen and Mater as they
train in a secret facility known as CHROME, short for Command Headquarters for Recon Operations and Motorized
Espionage. They are joined by Finn McMissile, Holley Shiftwell, and others as they attempt to become the car-equivalent of
spies. Unlike the original Cars game, which featured an open world version of Radiator Springs with missions to complete,
Cars 2 emphasizes weapons-based competition across 15 tracks.
Promising more vehicles, venues, routes, and events than in any previous game in Codemasters' acclaimed off-road series,
Dirt 3 also features revamped car handling and physics that more accurately incorporate weight shifting. Compete in rally
stages across Europe, Africa, and the United States as you race over gravel, tarmac, and snow in dynamically changing
weather conditions. A new mode designed around the freestyle driving technique known as "gymkhana" is included,
rewarding players for performing stunts, stringing together combos, and earning style points while competing alone or
against friends.
Sony's extreme off-road racing series continues with MotorStorm: Apocalypse. The highlight of this installment is its
dynamically changing urban setting. Bridges, skyscrapers, subway tunnels, and other structures can crumble, crash, burn,
twist, or collapse at any moment. Drive and customize your choice of supercar, muscle car, chopper, and superbike while
engaging rival racers across an earthquake-ravaged metropolis.
The sequel to 2009's Need for Speed: Shift introduces a helmet camera view designed to re-create the experience of driving
200 miles per hour from the driver's vantage point. Also included are nighttime races, wear-and-tear on both cars and tracks,
and a renewed emphasis on simulation-style handling and performance. The "autolog" system lets you share your racing
milestones, such as pictures and videos, with friends online. You'll also receive in-game challenges based on your friends'
top performances.
After a two-year hiatus, NASCAR returns to PlayStation 3 and Xbox courtesy of new licensee Activision and the racing
specialists at Eutechnyx. Play as or against the motorsport's top drivers while vying for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Championship. Each professional driver in the game is designed to reflect his real-world counterpart on each of the 22
featured courses. Damage modeling is included, and multi-car wrecks are possible if you're too aggressive while passing
or blocking.

Car and driving enthusiasts embark on new automotive adventures across the Mediterranean paradise of Ibiza in Test Drive
Unlimited 2. Following the innovative design of the original Test Drive Unlimited, the sequel features a full single-player
campaign that can be played offline, but which integrates into a persistent online world, shared with other players. Through
mission-based progression, players can develop their characters and expand their car collections for both offline and online
play.
Publisher Activision drives demolition derby-style across multiple consoles with the 2011 release of Monster Jam: Path of
Destruction. As in earlier Monster Jam games, the focus is on highly destructive races in specially modified trucks, through
arena courses strewn with mud pits, barricades, and other vehicles. Players can create their own trucks, or climb behind the
virtual wheel of one of 30 real-life monsters including Grave Digger, Maximum Destruction, and Grinder.
In the spirit of the title's late-1990s classics, the 2010 PlayStation 3 edition of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit revolves around
high-speed car chases through winding countryside highways and bustling village streets, giving players license to drive as
both escaping speedsters and pursuing police. The game is played in the large, open-world of fictional Seacrest County,
which features coastal, desert, forest, and mountain regions for diverse driving challenges.

Blood Stone 007 is an original James Bond adventure game -- not directly based on an earlier movie or book -- featuring
character portrayals by contemporary film actors including Daniel Craig and Judi Dench. Authored by Bruce Feirstein, a
screenwriter for GoldenEye, The World Is Not Enough, and Tomorrow Never Dies, the game's story follows a brave,
impetuous Bond through adventures in a series of luxuriously exotic locales, as he struggles to uncover an international
conspiracy and defeat a billion-dollar scheme.
Part of the Disney Interactive series that includes Toy Story Mania!, Cars Toon: Mater's Tall Tales is a collection of more than
30 mini-game activities based on the popular Pixar Animation Studios film Cars. Up to four players can join Mater, Lightning
McQueen, and other beloved characters from the film for fast-paced co-op and competitive multiplayer action. Each
mini-game is filled with unlockable bonuses, including items that let gamers customize the iconic cars, and all of the
activities are designed to resemble events from the "Mater's Tall Tales" animated shorts.
Codemasters' F1 2010 is based directly on the 61st season of the FIA Formula One Championship, featuring the drivers,
teams, racecars, and courses of the real-life Grand Prix series. Created for dedicated fans of the motorsport, the game
focuses on presenting a sophisticated simulation of the power and handling of an F1 car, under a variety of realistic
conditions. Developers incorporated real-world racing data and feedback from teams and parts manufacturers. The game's
physics account for the whole car, part by overpowered part, to create an authentically "twitchy" feel in steering and
acceleration, demanding precision from virtual drivers.

Split/Second is a sports car racing game with realistic automobile models, arcade-style action, and destructible
environments engineered for massive man-made disaster. Players become contestants in a fictional reality television show
that takes speed and violence to new extremes. Races are run in urban and industrial areas constructed especially for the
TV show, where buildings, towers, bridges, and other structures are rigged with high-powered explosives.
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is a classically styled kart racing game, with zippy vehicles, fantasy-themed courses, and
over-the-top power-ups. Players choose to race as a favorite Sega game character, from a roster of 20 that includes Sonic,
Tails, and Dr. Eggman, as well as Ai Ai and his monkey-balled companions, and the maracas-shaking Amigo from the
Dreamcast's hit rhythm game.
Rockstar's Midnight Club racing series makes its first appearance on next-gen consoles after a three-year hiatus. Instead of
solely focusing on the nighttime racing scene, Midnight Club features a 24-hour day-night cycle set in densely populated Los
Angeles. Powered by the same graphics engine used in Grand Theft Auto IV, the title offers arcade-style racing from either a
behind-the-car perspective or a dashboard viewpoint with working dials and animated steering wheels. There are no longer
menu screens to navigate or linear missions to follow.

This revved-up DS release from the portable gaming specialists at DSI presents players with a selection of virtual
Yamaha-brand dirt bikes and over a dozen tracks on which to race them. The game's graphics aim for a realistic look that
conveys a sense of speed, while the single-player storyline is told through comic-panel styled cut-scenes. A number of racing
modes are available in the game, including multiplayer options, a Championship bracket to conquer, and a "Ghost" mode
that challenges players to beat their own top times.
The Midnight Club series returns to the PSP for the first time in three years, this time letting handheld hot-rodders scour the
streets of the City of Angels for races. Midnight Club: L.A. Remix abandons scripted races in favor of open-world exploration,
and realistic day and night cycles mean that races are no longer relegated to midnight. Players can once again drive a
variety of different cars and motorcycles, but dynamic weather effects alter vehicle performance and realistic damage
modeling means drivers must be careful, or face the possibility of large repair fees.
Grand Theft Auto III to a new level of detail. The next-gen debut of the unapologetically violent series stars new protagonist
Niko Bellic, a criminal looking for a fresh start and perhaps a shot at redemption. Niko is lured to the bustling Liberty City from
Europe by his reckless cousin Roman, who sells him on a life of luxury with quick cash, fast cars, and faster women. Roman
has considerably overstated his wealth, however. The cousin is indebted to the type of people who don't take "no" for an
answer, and he desperately needs Niko's help.
The original kart racer is back on track with a motion-controlled edition for Wii. The 2008 release features classic characters,
courses, and cups from previous Mario Kart games, both on consoles and handhelds. New tracks and championships are
available as well, along with a new vehicle type. For the first time in the series, characters can race motorbikes as well as
go-karts. Bikes can perform wheelies, and mid-air tricks add a speed boost upon landing.
